What is Cloud & its types of services ?

 What is Cloud ?

Whatever software we use in our daily lives or whatever computer related work we do, all of it gets saved in the hard drive of a personal computer. Exactly the same work, if we save it in any web storage or online server then it is called cloud.

There are four main types of cloud computing: private clouds, public clouds, hybrid clouds, and multiclouds. There are also three main types of cloud computing services: Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platforms-as-a-Service (PaaS), and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS).

Public cloud solutions are one of the most prevalent IT infrastructures used today for compute and storage. Some of the most common examples include Google Workspace, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Dropbox, and Microsoft offerings like Microsoft 365 and Azure, as well as streaming services like NetflixNetflix.

A private cloud is a group of interconnected computers that are solely dedicated to a single organization, either on-site or maintained by a third party. Some examples of private cloud providers include: IBM
VMware, Hewlett-Packard, AWS, Cisco, Dell, Microsoft, Oracle, Google.

A hybrid cloud is a combination of at least one public and one private cloud that supports computing workloads and cloud-based services. Some examples of hybrid clouds include: AWS Outposts, Azure Stack, Azure Arc, Azure VMware Solution, Google Anthos, Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure, Nutanix Cloud Clusters, VMware Cloud Foundation and VMware Cloud on AWS.

Multicloud computing is the use of multiple public cloud services from different vendors at the same time. The examples of multicloud are limitless and depend on the needs of an organization. Here are some examples of multicloud:
Composite multicloud
Two or more cloud service providers host and serve software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications that work well together.
Redundant multicloud
Different providers host two or more instances of the same application for failover and application performance management.
Hybrid multicloud
Organizations use three or more clouds in their day-to-day operations. For example, they might deploy workloads on-premises, use SaaS applications on public clouds, or migrate applications to public clouds.

For instance, a business might use AWS for data storage, Google Cloud Platform for development and testing, and yet Microsoft Azure for disaster recovery.
